Life Update:

So here we are, now in August and I'm finally back with a new post  ** hangs head in shame**
I know I say it often but I want to make a good effort with my blog as I have had it for around 6 years.

So where were we? I left you back in February.. So the month of March was full of birthdays!! -Too many to be spread over 4 weeks along with mothers day!

April- We went on our first holiday of the year to a Haven site which although the weather wasn't amazing the memories were. This was also the month my little one got accepted into Primary school! - Yes I am that over emotional mother. - I will definitely be following the process of this. - For my benefits too. And lastly I passed my course to be a complete nail technician.

May- This was more of a chilled month not a lot happened.

June- More birthdays including myself turning 25 (How am I halfway to 50?!) and our second get away -again another Haven holiday but this time we ventured to Devon - Amazing memories made again and this time perfect weather too!

July- was full of dentist and hospital appointments for me so not great lol but it was the month we announced to our friends extended family and the rest of the world on facebook that we are expecting baby no 2!

August- So here we are at the start of August. Lots of exciting things planned - We have our Gender scan so I'll be posting the outcome, our nursery plans, and getting our first baby ready for school!

Let me know if you have any homeware decor ideas for the upcoming nursery!

Valentines Day - A little something

I feel like today's post should be dedicated to pancake day! - But after tossing between ideas I thought it'd be crepe! -What a dad joke!

On with today's actual post, I thought I would show you what I'm giving to my loved ones this Valentine's. So I'm not gonna lie it's lovely to be spoilt but I do think Valentine's day is just a money making thing. However saying that I do get amongst it!

I couldn't do Valentines without getting Ian anything so, Ian if you're reading this click away! I brought a frame and had a picture of us from when we went out for my brother in laws bday.  I thought it'd be cute (and cheesy) to get it printed and in the frame for Valentines day.

I also picked up a packet of the Love Hearts sweets, some confetti and some heart shaped chocolate. I split these between two love heart gift bags - I'm a mummy so I will always have my little one to tell them I love them! So why not even more so on Valentines day?!

I finished it off with a card to fill with cheesy lines haha. This is not your luxury gift guide but as i say Valentine's is lovely but can be expensive so I think this is a lovely way to give a little something just to let your loved ones know you thought of them.

January Make up favourites

We are finally at the end of January. It's been nice to start fresh and get motivated ready for the year ahead but it does seem to drag and everyone becomes a bit down with the January blues. With that in mind I thought I'd end on a high with the makeup products I've been loving this month.

My First love is my Morphe 35F palette. I am a massive Morphe eyeshadow fan I think the payoff you get from these eyeshadows are Amazing! from the matte colours to the glitter, the pigment is brilliant and lasts all day and into the night! They are so easy to blend together and I will forever be a massive Morphe fan!

Next let's move onto foundation. A classic for many people but my go to foundation is Mac studio fix fluid. I use the shade nw15. I personally think it gives me high coverage and doesn't wear off as quickly as others.

Carrying on with Mac is my current lipstick favourite in the shade 'Honey Love'. It's such a nice nude colour it has more of a brown tone to it compared to 'Velvet Teddy' which to me is more pink undertoned.

Next is my blusher. It has already featured on my blog (see blogmas day 1) This beauty is from Sleek,I love the pink shade of it and my favourite part is it has gold flecks in which are so shiny on the skin. Perfect for adding glow to your face. The shade I use is: Rose Gold 926.

To go hand in hand with the blush is my favourite highlighter palette from MakeUp Revolution. This palette is beautiful. All the shades are so pigmented and add such a good highlight to the cheek bones which even stands out in photos. A bargain at £4!!

Speaking of Makeup Revolution, another one of my current favourites is their 'Conceal & Define' concealer. I use it for under my eyes as its high coverage and because I use the shade C1 I find it brightens that area. - This is meant to be a dupe for the Tarte 'Shape Tape concealer'. Another bargain for £4 from Makeup Revolution!!

Finally my last makeup favourite for January is L'OREAL's 'Paradise Extatic' This mascara is absolutely Brilliant. It adds so much length to your natural lashes especially for us mum's who have no spare time on the school run to be applying lashes! It retails at £11.99 which I think is brilliant for an ultimate eye make over every morning!

Let me know what some of your January favourites are, doesn't just have to be beauty!

10 Happy things!

As I look out the window which is hammering down with rain, It got me thinking what simple things make me happy:

   1. My dressing gown - Sounds redic to some of you (Not one of my closest friends, she is the exact same - Yes Adele that's you!) but it's the best thing - besides Ian hating it and replacing it whenever he can it's always there for you. Cold whilst you wait for the heating to come on? -Dressing gown. Feeling emotional?-Dressing gown. Need a cuddle and no ones home?- Dressing gown. Ya see where I'm going with this?

2. Candles- They smells amazing, they make the room cosy, they chill you out. I just bloody love
em'.

   3. Fresh sheets - Pretty self explanatory, the best feeling when you're tired!

4. The heating being on AT LEAST  24 degrees - Grates my Sh*t when Ian touches the thermostat!!! A downside to being polar opposites!

5. Eggs - In the form of Mini and creme. Petition to start selling them all year round please?

6. Driving alone in my car with my 90's tunes playing on full volume! -Apologies for anyone who hears/sees this in full swing!

7.  An empty washing basket - With children this can be unheard of but keep ploughing the end of the basket really does exist!

8. Fluffy socks - Like no.1 they've got your back. I swear my feet have no blood in them! They are like blocks of ice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 363 a year! - minus the 2 days it is actually 'hot' in England.

9. IKEA - Yes it's like joining the M25 and once your in, you've got to be brave to go back against traffic if you forget something from the lounge section. But there's just something about that place that I LOVE - And as much as its a controversial subject it's not the for meatballs.

10. Hanging my washing on the line outside - Back to another adulting one but who else is sick of either shoving it in the dryer or having it all over the house on a clothes horse trying to get it dry for the next school week?!  - I love the fresh smell when it's been blowing in the wind in spring drying naturally.

So there you have it, My 10 basic things that make me happy most if not all are very boring adulting ones but hey I'm 24 going on 80 so that's acceptable right?

Let me know what yours are in the comments.

Pop of colour

Hello, and since We've gone into 2018 it is about time I said Happy New Year to you all! Hope you had the best Christmas and a lovely time welcoming in the New Year - That goes for us who prefer the leftover chocolates and a cheesy film in our pjs and fluffy socks as well as the party people.

So lets move onto the first post of this year. I wanted to do my first outfit post. On Sunday me, my partner and my little one toddled off in the car with scooter in tow to have a lovely afternoon of family time. -freezing all be it!

This is when we had the chance to take my photos for this post.

Top Half:
  • I wore a black polo neck top which is from F&F which you can get pretty much anywhere as it's just plain black.
  • A black floppy hat which I got from Primark a little while ago, I am long overdue a trip to Primarni so I don't know if they still have ones like this in.

Bottom Half:
  • I wore a grey checkered skirt again from F&F which I have had a pretty long while so again not sure if you can get this exact one but I've seen similar from Primark and boohoo. It's above the knee and has two little pockets on the front finished with two black buttons.
  • Tights- now these may be controversial but I like them and thought they added a pop of colour to this outfit. These are from Primark which are fur lined so purrfect- (get it?) for the colder days! They were £3 however I know you can buy them in many different colours from almost any shop! I absolutely love the berry colour in autumn/winter time so I matched my lipstick to my tights!
  • To finish my outfit I popped on some long knee high flat boots. They're faux suede and have buckle detailing. I got these from Matalan!

As you can see I am definitely a high street gal, My lifestyle and having a child means my budget doesn't stretch to much designer.

Where's your favourite high street places to shop?

Beauty & The Beast - Panto Style!

As one of my Christmas presents, We had tickets to go and see Beauty and The Beast in pantomime! Ian had chosen this show at the De Montfort Hall in Leicester. Even though we live an hour away, I was born in Leicester so it was fab to be going 'home' to see the show!

This picture is taken from De Montfort Hall's website.

The parking was brilliant it was directly opposite the hall which cost us £3. We crossed the path and strolled into the venue. After a quick bag check - (Security was brilliant) we got our programme, drinks and snacks and went up the stairs to find out seats - which was very easily labeled and the assistants at the hall were very helpful.

Ian had picked the seats C50 and C51 we were on a higher tier (Circle) and was dead centre of the stage, It was a brilliant view! I was so happy with where we were sat.

It's become our tradition that whilst waiting for the show to start we take a selfie for the memories 😊

I am a massive Beauty and the Beast fan but the fact Leicester's own Sam Bailey was starring in the show made it even better! I'd watched and rooted for her for the whole of the series when she was on the X Factor  so I fangirled abit ..okay a lot when she started singing! Sam was absolutely amazing! That lady was born to sing! I was worried she wouldn't be in the show due to the news that she'd fallen off a ladder and had a bang to the head! Luckily she was back! and even made a joke or two about it on stage!

Sam played the 'Enchantress' who set the spell upon the Prince. She can be seen in the above picture on the left.

It wasn't just Sam that was amazing in the show last night. All the cast were brilliant! If I'm completely honest growing up (and I'm only 24 so I was around when it was on telly) but I wasn't the biggest fan of Dick & Dom in the bungalow. However I have to say that Richard McCourt -Dick  was absolutely brilliant! He was so funny, mixed well with the children in the crowd and had a laugh with the adults! He was so full of energy and a great laugh! - They surprised the audience -don't worry I can't ruin it for anyone else because it's the last show today and this will be posted after the shows finished. They surprised us by Soaking us with water blasters, it was SO funny. Us ladies had put our best clothes on, spent time on our hair and make up and these guys soaked us! and I mean we got really wet! It was so much fun!

Dick paired with BBC Radio Leicester's Martin Ballard -who played 'Dame Kimmy' was a genius idea! They were fantastic! So funny! and I personally think 'Dame Kimmy' was based on Vicky pollard -definitely on dress sense anyway! -See Above haha!

Another Brilliant part of the show was Daniel Tawse who played 'Eugene'. He was so brilliant! He got the crowd 'booing' him and shouting the panto classic 'oh no he didn't, oh no you're not'. He played a character alike to Gaston in the disney's version but Eugene in Leicester's version. Brilliant actor and played his character with such comedy and wit, it was perfect.

To finish some of the cast is Sarah Accomando who played 'Belle' she made a lovely Belle and has a beautiful voice! Karl Loxley who played The Beast/Prince was also really good, having to wear that hot costume/mask for the majority of the show can't be the best thing but it was played lovely.

I wanted to finish by saying overall how brilliant it was! From the dancers, singing and costumes, they were all fantastic!  It was my first show I'd seen at De Montfort but I would definitely go back!

Let me know any shows/pantomimes You have seen!

Blogmas Day 13! -Sleek Advent

Day 13 and we're back to another lip product. When I saw it was another lip creme I thought maybe it was one to match the last lip liner I got but it's different!

Today's lip creme is definitely a darker shade than the previous colour.

I compared this one to the other lip creme from the advent and this one I'd say it's a dark burgundy red. I know it isn't black in colour but I feel it has a black undertone to it. Whereas the other one is the 'Santa Red' as I call it. A red which has lighter tones to it.

The top is today's called 'Old Hollywood'.
Bottom is 'Rioja Red'

Here you can see the difference between the two shades.

I also wanted to show you how long lasting this lipcreme is! I realised this as I tried to use makeup remover to get it off my arm. It look not one, not two but four attempts at scrubbing it off!! - Brilliant for wearing on your lips if you're partying all night, out for a meal or sipping drinks on your lips but not so great for getting off.

I did put this on my lips to show you guys but when I tried to get it off, I honestly looked like the joker from Batman and I'm not even joking.

We've been doing this for 2 weeks tomorrow!

Blogmas day 12! -Sleek Advent

A new day, a new door! I was very excited when I opened up number 12 to see another palette! As I opened up the case I saw 12 beautiful colours. The packing of the palette is the same as the previous one, plain black with the Sleek logo on.

It's filled with 12 beautiful colours, I would definitely say it's more of a night time palette.  There's lots of shades with glitter in and also a lot of dark colours. Brilliant for smokey eyes!

I've swatched the colours to show you how bright and pigmented the eyeshadows are! and you lucky lot have also got a full face of Sleek make up photos and my first Youtube video (which I'll leave down this page somewhere.)

So much colour in one wipe of each eyeshadow! I'm also going to put in a picture of the pigment that was left on my fingers after I'd swatched them!

Can you see how much is still on there?! -I mean that blue is something else!

The colours I swatched on my fingers from L-R were number 9, 5 and 10.

I am now going to show you my full face of make up I used using all the products I have received in my Sleek advent calendar so far! - for such things like contour and foundation I have used my own other products as these wasn't in the calendar. However where I could I've used only Sleek.

Find my first Youtube video here:

Subcribe if you like and I may do more and even get brave and talk!

Be nice! I've even got my Christmas Jumper on!!!

Day 13 tomorrow..

Blogmas day 11! -Sleek Advent

What's behind door 11 you ask? Well today's Sleek product was a makeup brush. This brush is to apply eye makeup, so lets have a look a bit closer.

As you can see the brush is all black with white hairs at the very top. The brush is so soft and quite fluffy therefore it is brilliant for blending. It is also an angled brush which helps apply make up into corners.

I have swatched an eyeshadow onto my wrist to show how well the brush works. The swatch at the top is an eyeshadow applied with one of my flat brushes which has packed the pigment onto my arm brilliantly however the line is quite harsh. The bottom swatch is applied with this Sleek brush we got in today's advent. In the picture you can see how well the brush has blended the eyeshadow in without taking away the pigment. It has left no harsh lines it's all soft so will apply the eyeshadows beautifully making smokey eyes easier!

I definitely need to try a smokey look with the Sleek palette from this advent calendar and now this fluffy angled brush!

See you for day 12!

Blogmas day 10! -Sleek Advent

How have we now done 10 days of this?! Behind today's door we got another lip pencil. Again it's from the twist up range which as I've said many times before is a lot easier. The colour of the packing is the shade of the pencil which is a lovely berry tone, again perfect for autumn/winter.

The nib on this pencil is again thin therefore it's easier to be very accurate when doing your outline.

The pencil is so smooth and glides so wont hurt when applying as some pencils can when they need sharpening and also helps for a perfect application.

I had a look through my lipstick collection to see if I had something that could match this lovely colour and I was over the moon when I found one of my lipsticks from the Rimmel Kate Moss range matched. The Sleek pencil shade is - Shabby Chic and the Rimmel is - Rossetto Rouge 104. In these pictures I've swatched Sleek on the top then middle line is Sleek at the top of the line mixed with Rimmel straight underneath and finally Rimmel on the bottom line just to show the difference (or lack of) in the shades.

I know in the picture it looks like there is hardly any difference but that is because these colours match SO well! -Good find and match by myself if i do say so myself.

Hope you've all had a very festive snowy Sunday! - Any pictures comment them down below this post!

Blogmas Day 9! -Sleek Advent

What was behind today's door? Well  you'll be pleased to know that it isn't an eye product for the fourth day in a row! Today's product is a nail polish!

This shade is so lovely! and I love love love the colour! It's a plum/berry colour! I think it's such a lovely shade for autumn and winter, you can mix it with so many colours; blacks, browns and mustard colours go really well with it!

This particular shade from Sleek is called 'Velvet Supper.' Once again I was too excited by the colour to read the bottle. So when I applied it to my nails I was surprised that it was drying matte! As I've said before I love the matte finish but there are gel top coats out there if you prefer the shiny look -Although I definitely think it doesn't need it.

The shade is a little bit lighter than what it is showing up on the photos. Before anyone says.. I know I haven't painted them perfectly. I have had to quickly paint my nails, take my photos and write this blog post to get it up asap as I have a party tonight so I really should be going to get ready!

Lets see what door number 10 brings tomorrow!
